Top 5 Training “Aspects” for Elite Sports Performance

Everyone is looking for the best new way to train out there, but what if it wasn’t something new that was the answer but the most important aspects done right?! There are tons of ways to train but the most effective is what we should be focusing on! Let’s break down our top 5 most effective training methods to make you an elite athlete!

Weight Transfer

We like to call this the end all be all of sports training! Everyone is looking for brute strength to become a better athlete, and although that is one part of the training puzzle it only can take you so far. Realistically the most important thing is how efficient you can move your body and transfer your weight! The ability to shift effortlessly will not only make you faster but also much less injury prone!

Explosive Power

Full body explosive power is another huge attribute you should try to be leveling up! This incorporates your whole body moving explosively as one cohesive unit. When done effectively this creates a huge strength and power upgrade to the whole body! The whole body network of muscles working together is always stronger than just one or two individual muscles working.

Movement Strength

Movement strength is all about how well your body can move through a full range of motion. Many people get really strong in partial ranges of motion so once you get outside of the range in your sport you won’t have any strength or understanding how to move effectively through that range of motion. This will lead to reduced performance and even potential injury.

Mobility

Everyones least favorite aspect of training! Haha…no but seriously this doesn’t have to be as boring as it sounds! Mobility doesn’t mean just sitting there on a foam roller for hours or stretching. It’s ensuring that you have full range of motion and control through all of your movements like squats, lunges and pushups to name a few. You can add in mobility specific exercises during your workouts as in between break exercises or accessory exercises!

Train the Planes

Last but certainly not least, training in all planes of motion is essential to peak performance! Sports happen. in all directions and they happen quick! So you’ll need quick decision making and the ability to explode thropugh your movements in every plane of motion. This includes forward/backwards, lateral or side to side and rotationally!

There are so many ways to train but remember you want to use your time wisely and train the most effective things to make you the best athlete you can be! If yo uhave any questions please reach out, we’d love to help! Thanks for reading!
