Top 3 things to Add to Your Elite Hockey Leg Workout

Leg day, usually the toughest day of the week and often skipped! 😉 If you are hitting legs than you’re probably loading up on squats and deadlifts which can be great strength builders but are your workouts really optimized for elite sports performance? Learn our top 3 things to add into your lower body programming to not only ensure your getting stronger but also developing as an all around athlete!

Movement Strength

Strength is important but the ability to be strong through your movement is even more important and often under trained! Adding rotation or lateral movement to your lifts can be a great way to expand on your movement strength in all planes of motion!

  • Improve weight transfer in all directions
  • Increase strength in more ways than your traditional lifts
  • Reduce injuries

Multi-plane Speed

Everyone wants to do speed training but it’s important to make sure you focus on increasing speed not only straight forward but also side to side as well as rotationally!

Single Leg Stability

Single leg training is often over looked because you can’t do as much weight as you would on two legs. But it’s essential to becoming an elite athlete as it build balance and improve single leg strength symmetry.

  • greatly reduces your injury risk
