Top 3 Kettlebell Exercises to Add to Your Summer Training Program

Kettlebells can be a great way to really amp up your summer off-season training program! Not only do they help increase strength but they allow for you to move with the weight. This helps improve weight transfer, leading to increased speed, power and overall athleticism! It also helps prevent injuries by improving joint stability and strength in all ranges of motion! Let’s go through our top 3 kettlebell exercises to add this summer.

Kettlebell Chop

  • Increase Explosive first step
  • Improve rotational power
  • Increase leg and glute strength

Lateral Mercury Snatch

  • Improve Lateral and rotational weight transfer
  • Increase Shoulder and core stability
  • Improve flow of movement

Lunge Swing

  • Increase explosiveness through the hips and legs
  • Improve balance and weight transfer
  • Improve front leg loading strength reducing injury risk

These kettlebell exercises can be advanced and do require some prerequisite movements to better understand them and perform them safely. If you’re having any trouble with these movements don’t hesitate to reach out, maybe we can help! You can also schedule a complimentary movement assessment to see where your movement baseline is and how you can incorporate these exercises properly and safely! Thanks for reading!
