Top 3 Exercises to Master Your First Muscle Up

A muscle up is no easy feat! It can take time and careful planning to understand how to do one and ultimately master it! Luckily we’ll save you some time and show you the top 3 exercises that will get you closer to doing your first muscle up!

Explosive Pull-up

This might be an obvious one but the emphasis is on the exploding up part of the pull-up! It’s one thing to be able to do a pull-up but to get that true explosiveness will be the difference making in master a muscle up!

Dips

Dips is another key exercise in mastering your first muscle up. The ability to push yourself up off the bar, especially explosively will greatly increase your chances of getting that muscle up!

Swinging Knee Drive

This is the move that brings it all together! Once you can do dips and pull-ups explosively with ease the swinging knee drive will be the missing piece that will give yo that momentum and power to combine the two movements together and complete that first muscle up!

Muscle Up!

Then all you need to do is muscle up!!!  

 

Although this article may make it seem easy to get your first muscle up, this is an exercise that demands total body coordination and full body power which can take many reps to truly master!
