Top 5 In-Season Exercises to Develop Movement Strength

Everyone is always looking for the best ways to get stronger and stronger but isn’t movement the name of the game when it comes to almost every sport?? Now strength obviously plays a role too, so that’s why its essential to terain the body for movement strength in all planes of motion and not just brute strength in one plane of motion. (AKA regular lifts like squats, deadlifts and bench) So let’s break down our top 5 movement strength development exercises!

Explosive Step Clean

Excellent full body power exercise that focuses on that first step explosiveness as well as properly absorbing your force! Keep the weight light on this one while focusing on speed, power and fluidity!

This exercises is great for loading the hip at an offset angle that really helps build that strength and mobility all the way through the hip joint! This will not only help with strength and performance but also injury prevention!

Rotational Deadlift

Fantastic exercise for building strength through the legs and core while mastering your rotational weight transfer! The majority of sports happen in the rotational plane of motion, you’re going to want to be strong there!

Lat Step Squat

Great exercise to build that strength of movement outside of your typical squat pattern. As well as building your strength absorbing into your landings when stepping side to side. Essential piece to being an around athlete with optimal movement!

Hip Punch Press SL

Awesome exercise to build up upper body explosive strength while increasing single leg strength and core stability! You really do engage your whole entire body on this one maximizing your full body movement synchronization!
