Maximize Your Dumbbell Workouts for Sports Optimal Performance

When using dumbbells don’t just stick to the simple stuff you usually see in the gym (bicep curls, shoulder presses and tricep extensions) focus on getting a full body muscular experience to maximize your sports performance!

Movement/Weight Transfer

The ability to transfer your weight efficiently directly crosses over to your ability to perform in your sport! So if you’re just focusing on stationary exercises that only focus on one specific muscle group or movement then you’re not getting everything you could out of your dumbbell workouts!

Multi-Muscle Movements

Many typical dumbbell exercises only involve one maybe two muscle groups and it’s usually in a very specific movement pattern. A lot of times those movement patterns don’t even translate to your sport. Involving more muscles will not only maximize your time in the gym but also maximize your performance!

Core Stability

Most dumbbell exercises don’t involve a lot core engagement unless you’re doing a core specific exercise. When you focus on multiple muscles and movement patterns in your dumbbell workouts you’ll also be engaging a ton of core stabilizers again maximizing how much your getting out of your workout!

Here’s a sample workout involving all 3 of these training techniques.
