The quick answer is no! There are two forms of vitamin B-12, cyanocobalamin and methylcobalamin. The difference you ask? Cyanocobalamin is less effective and potent form of vitamin B-12. In order for your body to absorb any benefits of the vitamin, it needs to convert it to methylcobalamine, during the process little is absorbed. With methylcobalamin, not only is the absorption rate much higher, but the vitamin stays in your body longer and is more potent.
